Agatha Christie
Experience some of the places and environments that galvanised Agatha Christie to write some of her most famous novels including “Dead mans folly”, “Five little pigs” and “Then there were none”.
During this informative and fun day we’ll visit Agatha’s birthplace in Torquay, the beautiful Greenway House her holiday home which she once described as “the most beautiful place in the world” and breathtaking Burgh Island located just off the South Devon Coast. Time permitting you could even enjoy a cream tea just as Agatha did in the art deco hotel on the island, reachable by the unique “sea tractor”. Couple this with stunning landscapes, unrivalled coastlines you too will embrace just some of what inspired her to put pen to paper.

“I seldom write reviews but I had to write one for the experience we had recently with Devon & Moor Walking and Driving Tours . It rained relentlessly on the day of the tour but it turned out to be one of the most memorable days in recent memory. All credit must go to Nigel, our tour guide, who was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and understanding. He tailored our trip to suit our physical needs and interest. I was not keen to walk on a slippery surface so I could sit comfortably in his Landrover and admire the stunning scenery and take some amazing photos while Nigel took my children up the hill to look at the habitat which has existed few centuries. The highlight however was the discovery of the rather rare Majestic Highland Cows which don’t always appear but due to Nigel’s diligence and passion for his craft he managed to find them for us. Thank you very much Nigel for making the ordinary tour to EXTRAORDINARY!!”
